Ok, so technically this is Jeff’s super awesome Chewbacca shirt, but I just love it so much. It’s so rad! Also, this shoot is done with my new lens. Ya… we opened our presents early. Jeff is the BEST boyfriend ever, guys. The best!
Rounding out our makeup tutorials for Star Wars month is Sofi’s Stormtrooper (next month we will finish out the Steven Universe series, I promise). If you missed the Jedi look she did, you can check that one out here. I know I say this almost every time, but this look is one of my all time favorites. Also, this marks Sofi’s 10th makeup tutorial here on the blog. Yay, Sofi!!
Also, just to preface, this tutorial is slightly more advanced than usual. Which means you should still try it of course! Just have that makeup remover ready while you practice if you are still beginner status like me 😉

I have been so excited about this movie coming out for what feels like forever now. I am scheduled to see it on Saturday morning, so no spoilers!
I remember seeing Star Wars: Episode 1 when I was a kid. I confess, I actually learned to love Star Wars based on the newer movies. I had a friend growing up who had a deep love of Christian Slater, N*SYNC, and Star Wars. She was amazing, obviously. She taught me to embrace the force when I was in 5th grade.
It’s nearly time for the new Star Wars, and if you have been following my posts this month, you could say that I am VERY excited. This weekend, I planned a Star Wars marathon movie night for Jeff and I and a couple of friends. It was a pretty small gathering, but we hit the Star Wars theme pretty hard.
As an extra bonus, almost everything we did for this get-together is accompanied by a how-to blog post (or will be in the coming days). Star Wars for everyone!!
This spicy sausage and veggie bowl is definitely one of my go-to’s every week. It’s easy to not get sick of it because I keep changing it up with different meats and vegetables. Sometimes I use okra, sometimes I add chicken. This recipe is as complicated or as simple as you’d like it to be. Perfect for when you are hungry, and you need to just get back to binge watching 30 Rock for the fourth time. Who’s doing that? Not me, shut up!
It’s getting closer and closer to the opening of the new Star Wars, meaning I have less and less time to marathon all of the previous movies. I’ll make it in time, I think.
Anyway, along the same vein as the BB-8 cocktail I made last week, I thought I would put together some Captain Phasma cupcakes. Based off the trailers, I am OBSESSED with this character. I think I was just shouting “CHROME TROOPER! CHROME TROOPER!” everytime I watched the trailer for about 2 weeks. It’s too soon to tell if that love will hold, but I’ll be sure to let you know once I’ve seen her in action. Just a side note… BRIENNE OF TARTH IS CAPTAIN PHASMA. EVERYTHING IS PERFECT.
More Star wars! MOOOORRREEEEE. The regularly scheduled Steven Universe Makeup series has been postponed this month for Star Wars, and will continue in January with it’s final implementation, Garnet.
As for today, Sofi worked on a Jedi-inspired look in celebration of the new movie. This look was also heavily influenced by Cover Girl’s Star Wars Jedi look here. We loved how it looked so much, she wanted to work on a how-to (although this version has some variation from that look, and a few different steps).

I just returned from the most incredible trip up north to Humboldt County, CA. If you are familiar with the Redwood forest, that’s where I was. It’s absolutely stunning there.
During my trip, I of course had to take advantage of the beautiful backdrop and do a t-shirt post. Corgi La Forge was yet to make his debut, so I thought it was time. Although, hindsight is 20/20. I sort of wished I had brought a Star Wars shirt to model, seeing as the ever famous Ewok scenes were filmed in this very part of California (although, this particular post was shot on the coast, aka Agate Beach). Next year, I’ll have to remember to do that!
Oh! As a special side note, my Auntie Moo (yes, I call her that) took all of these photos! She rarely shoots people, but I think she did a fantastic job! Check out here facebook page here.
This month’s cocktail is a little different. In celebration of the new Star Wars movie being released this month, I thought I would make a cocktail inspired by the ever adorable droid, BB-8. The Dark and Stormy is a REALLY simple cocktail, using only rum and ginger beer and a garnish of lime (and blueberry in this instance).
