YOU GUYS I DID IT. I SEWED SOMETHING AND I WORE IT IN PUBLIC LIKE REAL CLOTHES.
I took up the art of sewing over the last couple of months, and I JUST learned to read patterns. I took a class at FIDM, and it LITERALLY CHANGED MY LIFE. My apartment is now filled with a thousand piles of fabrics, but I don’t even care because I am so excited that I’m starting to make stuff.
I MADE THIS DRESS! LOOK! LOOK AT IT!!!!
So, if you also know how to sew, this is the pattern I used. It’s dress “F” and it’s actually pretty simple. The fabrics I used can both be found for sure at Joann’s (but be careful. Joann’s can be quite pricey if you aren’t careful). It’s a cotton licensed Rogue One print for the main bodice, and for the arms and skirt, I used a stretchy black spandexy thing that was near Yaya Han’s cosplay fabric (but it was much cheaper than hers). Sorry, I know that’s not too helpful not having the name, but I’m still learning fabrics and I sort of lost the receipt. Eek!
I hope that this becomes a habit. I tried to make a romper over the weekend and it was a disaster, so I might make a few more dresses/tops/skirts and share them on the blog.
LIFE CHANGED, YOU GUYS!! LIFE CHANGED!
